The Best Small Market Desktop Browser category accepted nominations for any Web browsers not considered to be mainstream (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.). Independent browsers are normally developed by smaller development companies or individual developers. They are usually not created to compete directly with the "big boys", but rather to focus on niche markets.
The five finalists range from a browser centered around social networking to an old favorite of Mac users.
