"Chrome Mailer is an add-on for Google Chrome which automatically opens and composes a Gmail message whenever you click on a mailto: link. Windows' default mail client is bypassed in favor of Google's Web-based offering, making this a very useful addition for those who favor Gmail when working within their Chrome browser. Toggling this behavior on and off is as simple as clicking a button within Chrome Mailer's interface. Support for Google Apps users with domains other than "gmail.com" is also included."
"Google Chrome is the world's most advanced browser, with many new technical features. We found one missing: we can't send emails through Google Mail by clicking on mailto: links. All clicks will open up Windows' default mail client. So we created an application that does the above: it's called ChromeMailer."
After downloading and installing the chromemailersetup.msi file, you must go to your Start Menu:Programs and find the Chrome Mailer program group. Choose ChromeMailer.exe, the only choice within that group's sub-menu. When the application launches, follow the on-screen instructions. You will notice that users running Gmail with their own domain name via Google Apps have to enter that name in the field provided. Also, Windows Vista users will require Administrator rights to install Chrome Mailer.
