IE8 gives you the ability to add a search provider not on their website to Instant Search. To do this first click on the Search Options arrow, located in the upper right hand corner of your browser window next to the Instant Search box. When the drop-down menu appears, select Find More Providers....

IE8's Search Providers web page will now load in your browser window. On the right hand side of the page is a section entitled Create Your Own. First, open the search engine you wish to add in another IE window or tab. Next, use the search engine to search for the following string: TEST

After the search engine returns its results, copy the entire URL of the results page from IE's address bar. Now you must return to IE's Search Providers Web page. Paste the URL which you copied into the entry field provided in Step 3 of the Create Your Own section. Next, enter the name you wish to use for your new search provider. Finally, click the button labeled Install.
