If any Safari tabs are currently open, you will receive the message above. I recommend that you choose Close All when beginning a private browsing session, to avoid any confusion. However, you do have the option to leave these tabs open by selecting Keep All if you so choose.
To disable Private Browsing mode, simply repeat Steps 1-3 of this tutorial.
