How To Set the File Download Location in Google Chrome for Windows

Ask for Download Location

You may not want all of your Chrome file downloads to be saved to the same location every time. In this case, there is an option in the Download location section of the Minor Tweaks that can help. Disabled by default, the option labeled Ask where to save each file before downloading is accompanied by a check box. To have Chrome prompt you for a save location each and every time you download a file, simply place a check mark as shown in the example above.
