How To Set the File Download Location in Google Chrome for Windows

You may not want all of your Chrome file downloads to be saved to the same location every time. In this case, there is an option in the Downloads section of the Under the Hood page that can help. Disabled by default, the option labeled Ask where to save each file before downloading is accompanied by a check box. To have Chrome prompt you for a save location each and every time you download a file, simply place a check mark as shown in the example above.
