By , About.com Guide

It may be necessary to disable JavaScript for development or security purposes. This tutorial explains how this is done in Firefox 4 for Windows.

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1 Minute

Here's How:

  1. Open your Firefox 4 browser.
  2. Click on the Firefox menu, located in the upper left hand corner of your browser window.
  3. When the drop-down menu appears, click on Options.
  4. The Options dialog should now be displayed, overlaying your browser window. Click on the Content tab.
  5. Locate the Enable JavaScript option. If its checkbox is empty, then JavaScript is currently disabled. If it is checked (default setting), simply click on the check to remove it.
  6. Click on the OK button, located at the bottom of the Options dialog. JavaScript is now disabled in Firefox 4.
