The first section in the Update tab, labeled Automatically check for updates to:, contains three options: Firefox, Installed Add-ons, and Search Engines. Accompanied by checkboxes, these options are all activated by default. If the Firefox option is checked, the browser will determine if an update for itself is available each time it is launched. The second option, Installed Add-ons, searches for available updates to all add-ons that you currently have installed. The third option, Search Engines, will search for any available updates to the search engines within Firefox's integrated search functionality.
