Windows XP

About Web Browsers Summary:

"No Icons is a Google Chrome add-on that substitutes your browser's toolbar icons with relevant text detailing what each button actually does. For example, the oft-used wrench icon is replaced with the word "MENU" while old standards like the back and forward buttons are also modified."

Publisher's Description:

"A stab at a Google Chrome theme without the icons on the bar. I could only fit 4 characters per button so..."

Special Installation Instructions:

After downloading No Icons, you need to replace the default.dll file in Chrome's Themes folder with the downloaded file in order to activate the add-on.

In Windows XP, this file is located here: \Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\<Build number>\Themes

In Windows Vista, this file is located here: \Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\<Build number>\Themes

This can only be done while Chrome is not running. I recommend backing up your default copy of default.dll in the event that you wish to switch back at some point.
