You offer two versions of ZAC Browser 1.0, one with an installer and one without. What are the main differences between the two?
ZAC Browser can be downloaded to a home computer, and that will make it super simple for the autistic to use because the icon on the desktop is a one click way to access ZAC Browser.
ZAC Browser can also be used without the installation. However, it may be cumbersome or frustrating for the child to find the ZAC Software. So this method is advised for use while traveling or through any public computer.
What languages is the browser available in? Are more translations planned?
Currently ZAC Browser is available in English and French. However, we are building relationships that will lead to releases in these languages in the near future: Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian, and possibly Chinese. Our ultimate goal is to see ZAC Browser released in as many languages as possible, since (unfortunately) autism is not limited by nationality.
ZAC runs in several versions of Windows, even dating back to ME and 98. Are there plans for Macintosh and/or Linux compatibility in the future?
Yes, we are currently exploring ways to bring ZAC Browser to the Mac and Linux platforms. This is a special priority for us because so many of the specialized schools for autistic children utilize Mac based computer systems. We do not have a definite release date at this time but we anticipate this happening soon.
