Some users may be skeptical about agreeing to portions of your mandatory Privacy Policy, such as the collection of browsing history and other personal information. What can you say to ensure users that their anonymity when surfing the Web will not be compromised when using Slingpage?
Users should take comfort in our TRUSTe Trusted Download status. This program is specific to downloadable software - and the certification process is vigorous. Additionally, I think we made the right choice by including more rather than less disclosure in our Privacy Policy.
I see that a Firefox version of Slingpage is in the works. Can you provide an estimate of when that will be ready? Also, are you planning support for other major browsers such as Opera and Safari? What are your future plans for supporting operating systems other than Windows?
Yes, we are actively developing a version for Firefox - it's a priority and a very important constituency for us. Like all start-ups, we are resourced constrained and putting an estimate on timing would not be prudent just yet. We are evaluating additional browsers and operating systems. For now, we need to maintain focus and ensure the best user experience possible. Once we get the formula down- it's safe to say we will do our best to deliver that same user experience to as broad an audience as possible.
You are actively looking for Slingpage users to be a part of your upcoming advertising campaign. Please elaborate on this and tell the readers how they can appear in an ad.
Starting at launch we will have several ad campaigns running. The concept for one campaign is 'I Sling' and the notion is we feature real Slingers along with what they sling (interests). Example - I Sling - The Hottest Styles. When we launch, folks can visit our Forum and submit their entry by telling us what they sling. We will pick a few entries and create ads around them. These ads will include an image of the Slinger.
When is Slingpage set to launch to the public?
Slingpage will be generally available to the public on June 2, 2008.
