The Bottom Line

FoxyTunes is a Firefox add-on which gives you the ability to integrate some of the most powerful media players around such as iTunes and Windows Media Player directly into your browser window. You are given the ability to control your media player of choice from Firefox's status bar or toolbar section.

  • A wealth of information about artists and tracks can be easily obtained from FoxyTunes' menu.
  • A sleep timer and alarm clock are built in to the add-on's main menu.
  • FoxyTunes Mini gives you a floating control panel that can be moved around at will.
  • Switching between media players is extremely simple.
Cons
  • The Reposition option does not actually reposition FoxyTunes but shows instructions on how to do it.

Guide Review - FoxyTunes

If you like to enjoy music, eBooks, or other media files while you browse the web, FoxyTunes may soon become your best friend. By integrating practically any media player right into Firefox's window, this add-on gives you control over the player without ever leaving the browser window. The controls are non-obtrusive and easy to use. Added skins let you give FoxyTunes the look and feel you desire. Easy access to items such as song lyrics is also included, giving the add-on some nice improvements over your media player itself. If you use iTunes, especially in Windows, you may not be totally sold on FoxyTunes since Apple's application allows you to control it from your taskbar. Also, you may occasionally hear a track skip a bit when you are loading a new web page. Aside from this, there is really nothing negative that I can say about FoxyTunes. This is a top shelf add-on in every respect.
