Mozilla Releases Firefox 3.5 Browser

With promises of lightning-fast speeds, support for the latest Web technologies, and some neat new features such as Location-Aware Browsing, Mozilla released the highly anticipated Firefox 3.5 browser this morning. Available in over 70 languages for the Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms, version 3.5 is the company's first major release since the widely publicized Download Day took place a little over a year ago.
According to Mozilla's official download counter, over 2.3 million copies of Firefox 3.5 had been downloaded globally as of 9 PM EST. At this rate, Mozilla will be hard pressed to top the 8 million plus downloads that Firefox 3.0 saw in its first 24 hours last June. Nevertheless, the tally is still pretty impressive thus far.
One new feature in Firefox 3.5 that is sure to be popular is the Private Browsing mode. While surfing in a Private Browsing session your sensitive data is not stored by Firefox, eliminating the need to clear your tracks. Read more about Firefox 3.5 Private Browsing...
Over the next several weeks, About Web Browsers will be your home for anything and everything Firefox 3.5 related. Stay tuned!
