Firefox Continues to Gain Market Share

Net Applications has released its Web browser market share numbers for March, and it appears that Mozilla's Firefox has continued to chip away at Internet Explorer's piece of the virtual pie. Claiming 22.05% of the global market, its highest number to date, Firefox's steady ascension has yet to be significantly hindered by the growing popularity of Safari and Google Chrome or Microsoft's recent release of IE8. On the flip side of the coin, IE's stronghold on Web surfers continues to dwindle. Its 66.82% share in March was the lowest in many years.
