Google Chrome Finally Compatible With Hotmail

A major gripe that many users have had with Google Chrome since its release is the fact that it never worked correctly with Windows Live Hotmail. As someone who has a Hotmail account, this is an issue that has caused me some personal frustration. Being unable to compose an email in Chrome shone a negative light on what is otherwise a fairly efficient browser.
Back in December Google released a patch that supposedly fixed the problem. The fix didn't work, much to my dismay. Another update was released yesterday, and it appears that they have finally gotten it right. An actual fix for the problem is still being worked on, but the latest version of Chrome offers a workaround that seems to do the trick. Whenever requesting URLs from mail.live.com, Chrome now spoofs its user agent string to appear as if the request is coming from the Safari browser. I confirmed this morning that this does work correctly.
Also included in Chrome 1.0.154.46 are two security updates as well as a fix for Yahoo! Mail users who were having trouble sending email. Even if you do not have a Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail account, I recommend upgrading to this latest version as soon as possible because of the aforementioned security patches.
