The Web Browser as a Meteorologist

Thursday January 8, 2009

Will you need an umbrella tomorrow? Should you salt the driveway before going to bed? In some parts of the country the weather seems to change hour by hour this time of year. Here in New York it was snowing sideways ten minutes ago but now the sun is blazing through my window.

Although forecasting the weather can appear to be less like an exact science and more like a crap shoot, it still gives some idea of what is headed your way. However, you don't always have time to check in with the local meteorologist to see what he or she is predicting. Today's add-on of the day, Forecastfox, steps in admirably by providing the latest conditions as well as any severe alerts right in your browser window. Never get caught off guard by an unexpected storm again.
