Looking Forward to IE8? Wait 'Til Next Year

Microsoft has decided to push back the release date of Internet Explorer 8 to 2009, hopefully sometime during the first quarter. IE's General Manager, Dean Hachamovitch, announced in a blog posting yesterday that the company plans to issue a release candidate early next year. That will be followed up by the official version of IE8.
"We want the technical community of people and organizations interested in web browsers to take this update as a strong signal that IE8 is effectively complete and done," said Hachamovitch about the aforementioned release candidate. "They should expect the final product to behave as this update does." Because of this, it is suggested that Web developers test their sites with the current IE8 Beta 2 release and report any defects they discover as soon as possible.
