Battle of the Browser Bugs

Follow me on:

uTest, a company which offers professional software testing, is hosting a "bug battle" beginning at midnight (EST) tonight. Over the next seven days, users running Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.1, and/or Google Chrome can submit defects that they find within any of these browsers. At the end of the testing period a significant cash award will be given to the tester who reported the most valuable bugs and feedback as well as to the beginner tester who showed the most promise. In addition, $200 will be awarded for the top bug as well as the best feedback for each of the aforementioned browsers.

If information about a bug is not available using searches with Google, Bugzilla, or other common bug reporting mechanisms then it will most likely be considered new and therefore eligible for consideration. The exception to the rule here is if the bug has been previously reported by another contestant. At the end of the contest, all valid bugs will be provided to the appropriate parties at Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla. Those testers who discover new defects in these browsers will be credited accordingly.

Do you think you have what it takes to unearth new bugs in these beta browsers? If so, this is your chance to not only make a name for yourself but possibly make a few bucks in the process! Registration for the uTest Browser Bug Battle is free and only takes a few minutes.
