The Future of the Browser
A collection of industry heavyweights convened last week at the Web 2.0 Expo in New York City to discuss the current state of browsers as well as where they appear to be heading. Representatives from Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla were on hand to talk about compatibility, unified standards, and much more. Some very interesting subjects were broached, including plans for the recently released Google Chrome to support add-ons in the foreseeable future. It appears that support for both standard extensions as well as Greasemonkey scripts is in the works. InformationWeek's Mitch Wagner attended the panel and gave his thoughts.
