Mozilla and Google Extend Search Deal

Friday August 29, 2008

Google has been the default search engine in Mozilla's Firefox browser for years and that isn't going to change any time soon. Thanks to a new agreement between the two companies, Google Search will remain as Firefox's default until at least November 2011. Mozilla's relationship with Google has been very fruitful thus far, with most of its income coming directly from the search giant.

This revenue is expected to grow as Firefox continues to expand upon its market share. According to W3Schools, the browser held a 42.6% piece of the pie last month.
