Mission Accomplished

Mozilla set its sights on between 1.5 and 2 million downloads for Firefox 3's Download Day. The goal was to set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloads in a 24 hour period. To say that they reached this goal is a bit of an understatement. Although Guinness is still reviewing all the facts before etching Firefox 3's name in the record books, Mozilla is reporting the total number of downloads at more than a whopping 8 million! These downloads were spread throughout the globe, with the United States tallying just over 2.5 million.
