Mozilla Aiming for Guinness World Record

Sunday June 15, 2008

The long-awaited public release of the Firefox 3 Web browser is almost upon us and Mozilla is looking to make download day extra special. Through their community marketing site, Spread Firefox, the company is trying to set a World Record for the most software downloads in a 24-hour span. There is currently no Guinness World Record for such a feat. Mozilla is attempting to change that by aiming for over one and a half million downloads. They are hopeful that setting this mark will convince the powers that be to add Firefox 3 to the record books. As of Saturday night, over 1.2 million people from all over the world had pledged to be a part of the special day. About Web Browsers will be featuring everything you need to know about Firefox 3 including reviews, tutorials, add-ons, and much more.
