Get Ready for a Speedier Safari

If the nightly WebKit builds are any indication, the next public release of Apple's Safari Web browser is going to fly by the competition. ComputerWorld's Seth Weintraub has been running some speed tests, and it looks like WebKit is approximately 2.5 times faster than the current version of Safari 3.0. This is big news, especially considering the fact that Safari is already quick when it comes to page load times. There have been concerns about the browser's stability, however, as frequent crashes seem to be occurring. With that said, folks interested in a speedy browser may soon be embracing Safari as their weapon of choice. It may be just a matter of time before Apple's browser leaves the likes of Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera in the dust.
