iPhone Update Fixes Serious Vulnerability

Apple has released the first firmware update to its iPhone, addressing a serious security flaw in the device's Safari web browser. If exploited properly, the vulnerability could provide an attacker with full control.

Firmware version 1.0.1, available as a free download, also fixes several other issues with Safari.

The update is available only through iTunes, and can be downloaded via the application's Check for Updates button or menu choice. iPhone users should manually force this installation as soon as possible.
