Access Windows From Any Web Browser

Thursday May 10, 2007

The service is called Nivio, and it gives you the ability to access a Windows desktop from any web browser on most platforms. Currently in beta, Nivio lets you set up a Windows desktop containing many of your favorite applications. This essentially becomes your personal desktop which is hosted on their servers. Documents and other data can be saved within this environment, making them accessible from anywhere you have a browser and Internet connection.

The standard package is set to cost $12.99 per month once the service graduates from beta status, and it includes 5 GB of space as well as incremental backups. Some applications are free, such as the OpenOffice Suite, while others require a monthly fee to access them.
